Our school, Kanu o ka `Āina, is a bilingual, Hawaiian-focused public charter school serving students in grades K-12. We are based in Waimea on Hawai’i Island.  Ka ʻOhā is the blended/virtual division of Kanu o ka `Āina that serves haumāna (students) across the Hawaiian Islands.  We offer place-based and project-based Education with Aloha (EA) via ʻohana-centered, personalized learning.

Limitless learning and opportunities

Ka ʻOhā allows for Kanu o ka `Āina to stretch beyond physical boundaries to increase the reach of our educational philosophy.

“The encouragement for families to be involved with our opioʻs education is outstanding! And more importantly, the commitment of the kumu to the opio is something Iʻve not experienced in any school. I am so grateful for the dedicated staff from the poʻo kumu to the kumu. This is truly what innovation looks and feels like!! Mahalo pihaʻu!!”
