‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i (Language)

‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i

As a primary goal of our school, ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i (Hawaiian Language) perpetuation is of high importance through all facets of our program. ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i is woven through core content in grades K-12. We strive to cultivate bilingual graduates.

Formal coursework is required for all middle and high school students. All middle school students enroll in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i class in grades 6, 7 and 8. Students also complete two years of ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i in high school. Many students choose to continue their language studies formally in post-secondary courses as well.

Using custom content and unique instructional approaches, our kumu teach students to integrate Hawaiian Language in their daily lives.
